What does cheugy mean in Pokemon Scarlet?
Nintendo Switch RPG Pokemon Scarlet And Violet
(Image credit: NIntendo) The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Cheugy question has Director Clavell ask you what the word means, with rewards if you can get the answer right. Some of you will already know what it means, but some of you think that it’s some new strange poison-type Pokemon. (Image credit: The Pokemon Company)
Something super cool Being outdated and uncool It’s a really chewy gumball
Basically, it means “being outdated and uncool” and it’s mostly used by the younger generations talking about the older generations – or anyone who actually needs to Google the word cheugy. It is used to describe anything or anyone who isn’t on trend, or is trying a bit too hard.
The word cheugy started out life on TikTok, and was used to describe a lot of things associated with millennial women. It’s not meant to be used in a mean way, but like a lot of things on the internet, it’s turned out to have pretty negative connotations. It actually got invented by a woman in Los Angeles back in 2021, although she does claim she coined it back in 2013 when she was attending Beverly Hills High School.
But anyway, it turns out Director Clavell is cheugy for asking what cheugy means. Poor chap. Dating himself out of the cool kids club – nobody’s going to want to play Pokemon Scarlet and Violet coop with him any time soon. Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more Sam Loveridge is the Global Editor-in-Chief of GamesRadar, and joined the team in August 2017.
- Sam came to GamesRadar after working at TrustedReviews, Digital Spy, and Fandom, following the completion of an MA in Journalism.
- In her time, she’s also had appearances on The Guardian, BBC, and more.
- Her experience has seen her cover console and PC games, along with gaming hardware, for a decade, and for GamesRadar, she’s in charge of the site’s overall direction, managing the team, and making sure it’s the best it can be.
Her gaming passions lie with weird simulation games, big open-world RPGs, and beautifully crafted indies. She plays across all platforms, and specializes in titles like Pokemon, Assassin’s Creed, The Sims, and more. Basically, she loves all games that aren’t sports or fighting titles! In her spare time, Sam likes to live like Stardew Valley by cooking and baking, growing vegetables, and enjoying life in the countryside.
What does cheugy mean in Pokemon Violet?
To reduce a description that is filled with words that are a bit too 2022 for my withered mind to fully understand, ‘cheugy’ essentially describes someone that is basic, uncool, or perhaps even old-fashioned or overly traditional. So, to answer Director Clavell’s question, select: ‘Being outdated and uncool.’

Where shouldn t Pokemon walk with you?
Question 1: Where shouldn’t Pokemon walk with you. Answer: Inside of buildings.
Is Pokémon Scarlet a kids game?
Are Pokémon Violet and Pokémon Scarlet Appropriate for Kids? – Pokémon Violet and Pokémon Scarlet are rated E for Everyone, with a Content Descriptor for Mild Fantasy Violence, Both versions also have Interactive Elements including Users Interact (meaning players can communicate online if they choose) and In-Game Purchases (meaning the game offers the ability to use real-world currency to purchase in-game currency or items). These latest entries in the series are also open world games. This means the player can freely explore with minimal barriers and loading screens. And while there’s a lot of “catching” and “battling”, according to ESRB’s Rating Summary, the player can choose among “cartoony attacks (e.g., ember, tackle, bite) from a menu and watching Pokémon perform the actions; smacking/zapping sounds and mild explosions are depicted, indicating damage.” It’s also worth noting that defeating an opponent’s Pokémon simply makes it faint, which can be easily reversed by taking it to a Pokécenter (basically a magical healing machine).

Why is Pokémon Violet better?
Pokémon Violet Exclusives – Exclusive Pokémon Bagon / Shelgon / Salamence Ceruledge Clauncher / Clawitzer Dreepy / Drakloak / Dragapult Eiscue Gulpin / Swalot Miraidon (Legendary) Misdreavus / Mismagius Passimian Exclusive Paradox Forms Iron Treads Iron Bundle Iron Hands Iron Jugulis Iron Moth Iron Thorns Iron Valiant Other Notable Exclusives : – Professor Turo – Uva Academy – Purple/Blue Character Outfit – Miraidon Light Cycle Unlike Scarlet, Violet emphasizes a more futuristic theme that can be found in nearly every aspect of the game.
Not only are the game’s exclusive Pokémon a bit more sci-fi in their design than their Scarlet counterparts, but even that version’s Legendary vehicle feels like something straight out of Tron, Violet ‘s Paradox Forms are also based on certain Pokémon’s “future versions,” which essentially turn them into robots.
Much like Scarlet, though, most of Violet ‘s most notable exclusives are aesthetic. You’re going to see blue and purple a lot more in this game, including on your main character’s outfit. If you happen to greatly prefer that color scheme, that could certainly end up influencing your purchase decision.
Is Scarlet or Violet canon?
Pokémon Horizons Declares Scarlet Version Canonical – In addition to the Academy using its Scarlet name, the students seen milling about are all wearing the orange uniforms seen in Scarlet, as opposed to the purple ones seen in Violet, The Academy’s name and uniforms, however, are relatively small compared to some of the differences between versions.
- With characters from the games such as Nemona and Brassius set to appear in the next episode, the story differences may become relevant a bit faster than one might expect.
- If the anime intends to stick closely to Scarlet ‘s version of events, it may become apparent soon when Professor Sada makes her appearance.
It’s worth pointing out, however, that Pokémon Horizons doesn’t have to follow one or the other. Instead, it could do a mix of both, incorporating both the past and future Paradox Pokémon, as well as both professors. This would have some interesting implications for Arven, as his connection to both professors is implied to exist in both versions, but only one professor is ever seen.
- The anime has done this sort of thing before, as seen with Lillie’s storyline in Pokémon Sun and Moon, but Scarlet and Violet ‘s differences are tougher to reconcile.
- Regardless of how the story is executed, the world is solidly established as that of Scarlet for now.
- Pokémon Horizons isn’t trying to be a straight anime adaptation of Scarlet and Violet, so it would make a lot of sense to draw from both and create a new version of events.
Fans have been dying to find out, though, how the series would handle the academy and the other differences between versions, and now they finally know. Hopefully, Pokémon Horizons is able to bring together the best of both Scarlet and Violet, and create a new path that aims even higher than the games did.
Will Gen 9 have all Pokemon?
Scarlet & Violet Pokedex – Like every mainline Pokemon title, Gen 9 will include a full Pokedex with a number of new additions for trainers to complete. features many ‘mon from previous generations including the Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh regions, as well as a number of new creatures exclusive to Paldea to catch and train.
Which legendary is better Scarlet or Violet?
Pokemon Scarlet is Better than Violet by, Staff Reporter January 25, 2023 As the newest installments of the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were expected to achieve great things due to their advertisement of open-world gameplay and choose-your-own path style of adventure, which hadn’t been seen before in the franchise.
- While the game delivered to sub-par expectations and a plethora of glitches, many fans were divided over which version of the game was better.
- Similar to prior games in the Pokemon series, the games had very few differences.
- Different professors and gym leaders, as well as a few version-exclusive monsters, were practically the only changes between each $60 game.
Still, this didn’t stop fans from arguing whether Scarlet or Violet was superior. In Scarlet, the trainer meets the legendary Pokemon Koraidon, whereas Violet players can meet Miraidon. These two directly showcase the stylistic differences between the new designs chosen for each game.
While Scarlet’s Area Zero grabs creatures from the past, Violet takes creatures of the future. As someone with a complete Pokedex (acquired by trading with players who own the other version) and over 100 hours in the game, I can confidently say that Scarlet is superior in practically every regard. Paradox Pokemon, an old Pokemon that got redesigned into versions of their future or past selves, is one of the major things these new games provide.
Thus they are something that should be regarded highly when deciding which game is better. In Violet, all future forms are metallic and share a similar shiny theme of becoming silver. Their names also have no flavor to them due to all of them sharing the theme of “iron,” followed by a body part or title to describe the unique monster.
Meanwhile, Scarlet gives us a glimpse into the past (similar to the game Legends: Arceus, which introduced Hisuian forms). These past forms give a deeper lore into how Pokemon evolved into their versions of today, as well as giving them unique names such as Scream Tail and Roaring Moon. Scarlet’s forms aren’t limited like Violet, since it needs to revolve around technology and metal.
Instead, Scarlet is able to showcase a design that isn’t forced to be the same as all the other paradox Pokemon. This makes each new monster unique and different enough to provide players with eye candy rather than finding a metal version of the same Pokemon they’ve seen a thousand times.
- The story doesn’t differ much aside from certain characters the players meet.
- Therefore, it should be up to the legendary Pokemon and the new paradox forms to determine which game is superior.
- While Miraidon is praised for being purple, Koraidon’s design is akin to that of the Aztec Quetzalcoatl.
- It is provided with a shiny form that makes it look even better (compared to Miraidon, which gets the same shiny treatment the paradox versions do, where it simply becomes silver).
Because of this, I believe that Scarlet is better in terms of creativity and design and should be considered over Violet for people who intend to play the game past the initial storyline. : Pokemon Scarlet is Better than Violet

Is Pokémon Scarlet short?
How long does it take to beat Pokémon Scarlet and Violet ? – Most reviewers took between 20 and 30 hours to finish Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, The website also already received enough entries to start its page on the two games, which cites the main story playthrough at around 23 hours,
- That time varies depending on how long players take to explore the various areas.
- If you focus on wrapping up the three storylines and nothing else, then it should take closer to 20 hours.
- It might seem short for a Pokémon game that has more “bosses” than average.
- However, it makes some sense when you consider how the map is structured and the difficulty of each boss.
Random enemy trainer battles are also now optional, and you could theoretically avoid encounters with most wild Pokémon. In Scarlet and Violet, two sides of the map have similarly leveled gym leaders rather than each being much stronger than the last.
Is Pokemon OK for 5 year old?
Parents Need to Know – Parents need to know that the long-running Pokémon series is based on characters from a popular video game, and is part of a giant licensing juggernaut. There are some positive messages (teamwork, sportsmanship, respecting elders), but it may be too intense for younger children.

Body horror in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet – Darker glitches have emerged too. A video recorded from the game showed a child being attacked by a Pokémon that had turned into a drill when they crossed the boundaries of the battlefield. There was no gore, no screaming, but the contrast between the naïve, innocent tone of the Pokémon game’s universe and the violent narrative created by the recorded glitch made the video go viral.

As a queer game scholar I am fascinated by unorthodox and bizarre instances in gaming culture. I think that these glitches are pretty queer too. Playing queerly means playing differently – whether it is to fail, experience ” bad feelings “, be aroused or simply stray from mainstream gaming.
- Queerness and horror have always shared a special relationship.
- Horror movies are often beloved by queer audiences, who frequently identify with the characters depicted and enjoy seeing narratives that were, and still are, missing from the mainstream film industry.
- The body horror genre, with its obsession with “threatening” bodies, has resonated among the queer community.
From Freaks (1932) to Titane (2021), body horror has come a long way from stigmatising to celebrating queer bodies. And it has now found one of its most unexpected platforms – a globally successful, family-friendly digital game franchise.
What is R and Zr in Pokémon Scarlet?
Don’t Make This Mistake And Prevent Your Pokémon From Evolving In Scarlet And Violet If it happened to me, then it can happen to you. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s worst evolution method is from evolving their and Rellor over and dozens of levels. By the time I went on Reddit to figure out why my Paldean electric mouse wasn’t evolving, he was already level 52 (despite being able to evolve at level 19).
- The game never told me why I had to suffer so needlessly, so I’ll explain instead.
- You’re welcome.
- Certain Pokémon in the new games have a special evolution method.
- You have to take them out of their Pokéballs and “walk” them in the “Let’s Go!” feature.
- This is fine in theory, but there are several frustration factors.
For one, you can’t run too quickly. Otherwise, the Pokémon will go back into its Pokéball. So I forced myself to walk the entire length of the Glaseado Mountains. Did I mention there’s no step-counter or any other method of checking your progress? also cancels out walking for some players.
- That’s how I ended up walking my level 52 Pawmo everywhere without realizing that he was nowhere close to evolution.
- My biggest issue was that my steps weren’t being counted at all.
- Here’s why some people have been blocked from evolving them: Players were likely using the wrong “walk” button like I had.
See, there are two buttons for sending out your Pokémon. One is R, which helps you target specific opponents in the wild. The other is ZR, which is the trigger button that actually counts for evolution. So no matter how much they walk, players who are using the R button will never be able to accumulate the steps they need.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet launched with a, so I can understand why the “Let’s Go!” evolution didn’t seem to get the attention that it needed. But it doesn’t make it any less frustrating when my Pawmot becomes the last member of my team to evolve. I’d already collected almost every single gym badge, and those extra attack points could have been useful! I know that it’s video game logic, but there’s just something so funny about my entire ordeal.
I’d journeyed for dozens of hours, had a whole adventure with him, and my Pawmo did not evolve into Pawmot. Once I walked it in the correct way, he evolved within minutes. Spoiled, much? : Don’t Make This Mistake And Prevent Your Pokémon From Evolving In Scarlet And Violet
